A message from Paul and Carter…
The season may have ended, but our hearts are still bursting from the outpouring of love from the Smuggler community. Our deepest gratitude to everyone who has so passionately supported us and made the Smuggler part of their family summer tradition. We would like to thank our amazing staff for their loyalty and for rising to the occasion day in and day out. We would like to thank you- the Smuggler community- for your fierce loyalty, your kindness and your commitment to keeping our store in Dennis. You have rallied around us and we are blown away by your generosity and offers to help. More than anything we want to stay in Dennis at our original location and carry on Smugglers long tradition. We will keep everyone posted over the winter and will continue to post to keep in touch with our loyal followers. We look forward to celebrating our 40th season together next spring where it all began in 1979!
Statement from the Ice Cream Smuggler
Recently, there have been a lot of rumors circulating about the Ice Cream Smuggler, and we wanted to share the facts with our valued customers.
Carter and Paul Catalano have owned and operated the Ice Cream Smuggler since 2005. We are an independent, family-run business. We are currently open 7 days a week and we are looking forward to another great summer (Smugglers 39th season!) serving Cape Cod’s finest ice cream.
We did not sell the Ice Cream Smuggler. Any statement by any competitor of ours that they have purchased our business is completely false and defamatory.
The Smuggler has been at 716 Main Street for 38 years, and like you, we cannot imagine it being located anywhere else. Unfortunately, our landlord did not give us the opportunity to negotiate a new lease. Instead the building has been leased to an ice cream chain without our prior knowledge.
We are heartbroken. However, we are also absolutely amazed by the outpouring of support from our customers and the Dennis community. If you would like to support us, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates. We will keep you posted if it appears we need to relocate.
Also, if you are interested you may write letters of support and submit them to Ice Cream Smuggler PO Box 145 Hyannis Port, 02647, or [email protected]
Please like and share this post to get the word out. Thank you for your continued support!
Carter & Paul
